One of the most famous historic squares of Torino Piazza Solferino.
The square of the capital of Piedmont is located on the site of until the early decades of the nineteenth century by the market of wood, straw and hay, a large irregular flattened clay between the bastions of the citadel of Turin and the Western Isles enlargement seventeenth century.
The realization of the square is in the second half of the nineteenth century, after the dismantling of the fortifications of the Citadel began in 1852.
  From the square you can see the Teatro Alfieri (photo) and the building of the Regional Council (Palazzo Lascaris). 
  A decoration of the square is the fountain angel (pictured) consists of four  gruppi di statue che si richiamano alle quattro stagioni. Al centro della piazza si vedono i padiglioni di Atrium progettati da Giugiaro caduti in disuso dopo le olimpiadi.
